Phoenix Costume
This is one of the most challenging costumes I’ve made to date, as it was my first project using an arduino and neopixels. I spread its creation out over 3 years. One for the wings, one for the headpiece, one as I remade the wings to be more interactive and flexible after how quickly the initial set of wings became damaged. Thanks to Mike Warren for the photos, and Becky Stern for the Arduino help.
The full tutorial can be found on Instructables. While it does not include a tutorial for the second round of wings, I made those using the same technique as the owl costume pictured at the bottom. I take my fairy godmother status very seriously :)
