Instructables Product Design
I spent nearly a decade as a designer at Instructables, a do-it-yourself project sharing website. I was the first designer, and over my time there we grew to a small and mighty team of two. In the early years I took care of all of our brand, graphic, and UI design needs. Once we brought on a graphic designer, I moved more into a product design role, as well as serving in a creative direction capacity for the brand. It took years to move through the entire site, but by the time I left I had designed all of the pages and features.
I’ve broken down a number of case studies in this product design post, which is password protected. If you are interested in working together, please get in touch for access.
Other posts dedicated to Instructables are Brand Design, iPad App, and Explainer Video. You can also go check out Instructables for yourself, as the basic site structure is largely the same as when I left in 2020.
